God gracious love

As several of you know my mom had knee replacement surgery on September 5th. It has been a long journey of recovery for her and I am thankful to my God that she is still here and improving daily. For those of you that don't know she could have died due to complications and infections but by the grace of the Lord she is still here and now at home and continuing to get better. I'm so thankful for this blessing!

As for my daddy, well... he is having a harder time breathing these days and for those of you to know him, know how stubborn he really is, and he refuses to go to the Doctor. So I'm in continual prayer for him and the ability to be graceful and loving when I try to speak to him, even though what I really want to do is hit him over the head and drag his butt to the doctor!

But through all the crazy God has been gracious! My parents are still here, I am still standing and fighting the good fight! Some days are harder than others. Its hard seeing your parents and knowing that you have to take care of them now. I remember as a child thinking to myself, "I can't wait to grow up so that I can live on my own and make my own choices." Man I had no idea how easy I had it! I miss the days where I was always taken care of by my parents, and when I was sick there was always someone to take care of me and make me feel better. Its so funny that as we get older our roles change, and we become the caregiver. We have children of our own that we must take care of, and as a mom you never have the day off no matter how bad you feel! And then eventually our parents are the ones that need to be taken care of and as good loving children we are taking care of our beloved parents, who used to take care of us. But through all of it God is gracious! He has graciously given me 2 wonderful loving parents who would die for me if they had to do so. He has graciously blessed me with  a wonderful husband who loves the Lord and loves me, and takes care of our family. He has graciously blessed me with 2 beautiful boys when there are so many women that can not have children. He has graciously given us a wonderful church body with wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ!

So even in the midst of the storm God is graciously pouring His love out to me and it calms my soul. Things could always be worse, so take each blessing and thank Him for it! So today I'm praising the Lord for all my blessings. I'm praising Him that though things are hard He still keeps me even though I don't deserve Him.

2 Corinthians 12: 9

And He has said to me,
"My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness."
Most gladly, Therefore, I will rather boast
about my weakness, so that the power  of
Christ may dwell in me.

Thankful that God is my strength

So life has been crazy busy and stressful these last 2 weeks. My mom had her knee replacement done September 5th. She came through surgery well and they moved her to the cottages for rehab that following Monday. Even though she made it through surgery well all of the pain medicines have made her very sick and it is hard for her to keep anything down. She was also doubling over in pain more than normal, so of course they immediately thought blood clot, thankfully it was not a blood clot. Then they found an infection in her knee, so she is now on high powered antibiotics along with all of her pain medication, needless to say it has been a really ruff few weeks for her. I hate seeing her this way but I know that the Lord has a plan for everything that is happening now, and I am just trusting in Him!

In other news, Eli had his first day of co-op on September 9th. So we are now officially a homeschooling family! I'm just thankful that he likes school! He even wanted to do school this past Saturday! Oh my what a nut! I told him that we don't do school on the weekends, hopefully he will eventually be ok with this, because this mama needs a break for her mind to rest! Here are some pictures of Eli's first day of school, he was just too cute, so I took lots of pictures!

We also went downtown and walked around Falls Park as a family and here are some pictures of our adventure!

Its also been an emotional day for me missing this sweet man I had the privalege of calling Grandpa. It has been 4 years since he passed away and I still miss him terribly. Praise the Lord that I will see him again in glory one day!

And to top off this day my baby turns 1 year old tomorrow! I can't believe it has been a year already! God has blessed me so much I don't even have words for it other than, I am not worthy of it and I'm so thankful that God blesses me anyway! Even in my struggles He is there! Mercy what a Savior! I'm so blessed to be a daughter of the King of Kings!

God bless,

Out with the old in with the new/ or Eli's hand-me-downs:)

So today I cleaned out the boys clothes. It was very sad so put away all of Micah's clothes that he is now to big for and dig out Eli's old clothes in his new size which is anywhere between 12 to 18 to 24 months. I can't believe how big he is getting! He is almost 1 year old and I wish I could make him small again already! With that sadness now behind me, I will only need to buy him a few things to finish up his winter wardrobe! So there is some light in the sadness! As for Eli I can not say the same, my pour baby is now so big that only 1 or 2 pairs of pants fit him and maybe a few long sleeve shirts that will be to short for him by the time December comes around. So his fall/winter wardrobe is gonna cost me a pretty penny because we are starting with practically nothing! With that said if any of my friends have any boys clothes sizes 5-6 please send them my way! I'm just glad that it finally decided to feel like summer outside so I have time to collect a little at a time before it gets really cold! But I'm just blessed that they are growing and are very healthy little boys! As a mom I can't ask for anything better! I'm so thankful to my Lord for keeping them that way!

My thoughts on this thing we call parenting is, "ITS NOT EASY" but "ITS SO WORTH IT!" It amazes me how fast it goes by. I know there are days when I'm like man things will get easier when they get older and can help out more. But then I think I don't want them to get older and not really need mommy anymore. I'm just going to try and enjoy every day of this crazy ride and soak up every bit of this sweet time with my boys that I can, because one day they will not be little anymore. I'm just thankful that the Lord blessed me and picked me to be their mommy! The greatest part of my day today was hearing Eli sing a song that they sang in children's church, over and over and over again:

I will make you fishers of men,
Fishers of men, fishers of men,
I will make you fishers of men,
if you follow me.

If you follow me,
If you follow me,
I will make you fishers of men if you follow me

Sweetest words a mom can here her children speak are that of our sweet Jesus! I'm am truly one blessed mommy!

The happenings at the Golob house

So the last few weeks have been crazy, wonderful, stressful, pretty much every emotion you can think of, I have felt it. As we get closer to September I think could we just skip it and go straight to October, but then I'm sure I would miss many life lessons that the Lord has planned for me.

Over the last week I have been getting everything ready to start homeschooling Eli. He starts co-op on September 9th, and although I'm excited about him making friends and learning new things, it has been hard for me to come to terms with the fact that he is growing up. It has also been hard to realize that I must find a time to do schooling with him at home in all the crazy of our lives. So lots of praying and asking God to help me with this transition has been going on and I'm just gonna take it one day at a time. I'm learning that all I can do is pray and trust God to work out all things. So I'm excited and scared all at the same time.

On another note, mom will have her knee replacement on the 5th of September. This is one thing I am definitely not excited about. I never realized how much I depend on my mother. She is always there for me, which has been such a blessing. Now I'm faced with knowing that she will depend on me in many ways, and I am totally ready to repay her and gratefully so...but as a woman I worry and I let my anxiety get the best of me. So if you read this, (I don't know how many actually do) please pray for me and my family.

On a happier note, we have had some wonderful time together as a family of 4! We went to downtown Greenville and walked around at Falls Park. We went to our family reunion on my dad's side of the family, and we took the boys to Otter Creek Waterpark. We also had Micah's one year old pictures made since he will be turning one September 18th! Man time sure does fly. I can't believe he is going to turn one soon, but I am excited about his party! I'm doing a little man mustache party, and he is gonna be to adorable for words! Well at least he will be to me but lets face it I'm biased:)

So here are some pics of all the fun we've been having I hope you enjoy them!

This crazy life!

So if you have been reading my other posts you know that life has been a little crazy for our family these last few months! With dads heart and lung problems and moms blood and knee problems the world has been a roller coaster without the fun involved.

So the roller coaster continues, now my mom will have to have a knee replacement. And of course they scheduled this surgery for September 5 and right when I am planning my youngest sons 1st birthday party. So now its looking like mom may miss that blessed event and it makes us both sad. Also I start homeschooling Eli at this time and he has his first day of Co-op on the 9th of September. So I'm sad and nervous about all these things happening so fast and at the same time. As I was thinking about how much this sucks and that the timing is bad, the Lord really spoke to me, well more like slapped me in the face. He brought me back to Psalm 139 and Lamentations 3: 22-40. God is my portion and He is my hope in all things. He knows my wickedness yet He loves me still. There are so many out there who have it way worse than me and many that don't know the Lord and have no hope, because He is not in there hearts. I am so blessed that the Lord calls me His. So blessed that in the midst of this darkness He shows me light!

So all my prayer warrior friends out there please be in prayer for my family as we go through all these things. I know that the Lord is molding us for His good. Please pray that we don't loose sight of this wonderful thing, and that we let the Lord use it to sanctify us and bring us closer to Him.

Birthday bliss

So I was dreading this birthday for some reason, but with the help of my wonderful husband, kids, parents, and friends it has been a lovely day! I woke up to gorgeous roses and a card from my sweet hubby and then a wonderful lunch with my parents and the boys! So this birthday girl feels happy and very blessed! Thank you to all my friends and family that make me feel loved:)

=happy me!

My walking 10 month old!

I don't know about you other moms out there but I feel as though my second child is growing way to fast! It seems like just yesterday I was holding him in my arms as a infant. And now he is a fully walking 10 month old baby! Craziness is definitely going on in the Golob house! I was going to post a video of Micah walking on here but I can't get it to work on my phone:( so ill just post pictures of the boys instead and if you really want to see the video check it out on Facebook!
